Update: News

Ahh, I’ve been home a week and been busy since I arrived. I keep telling myself I’m going to get up at 7am and write but it doesn’t happen. My body says, “Noooooo!” and so I sleep to make it be quiet. Which means, I’m not done with DF2 yet. *sigh sigh* I did have the opportunity to work on DF2 today and even added some great new scenes. But I also cut two chapters. More like edited them OUT because I didn’t need the section anymore. I loved it… like with a capital L, but it just didn’t have a place. Maybe I will share sometime. Because it...

End of the summer tour…

I’m a bit sad and a bit happy to report my touring of the western(ish) states is about to come to an end. Monday October 17, 2011 I will be speaking at my last two schools here on the road. I’m in Casa Grande, AZ this week and totally enjoying my last glimpses of hot weather and kid pool time. It’s been an amazing visit with friends and family but truly I am ready for this two month tour trip to come to an end. Mostly because I’m ready to be back in my own elements, with my own schedule, and even in my own bed. Not that all the beds have been terrible… but mine...

Homeschooling Take Seven!

Posted by on Aug 22, 2011 in Homeschool, Life | 4 comments

And mark: Today, kids all across the country start school. I know this not because mine grabbed their backpacks and headed for a bus, but because the statuses of my friends on FaceBook tell me so. My feed was overrun with cute pictures of my beloved friends and family and their new outfits and lunch pails. Some of them sending their kids to school for the first time ever (kindergarten)! Some of them wishing their college students well. While others are just stuck somewhere in the middle. Guess what my kids did this morning? They slept in. Does this make me a bad mom? Good gravy, I hope not....

What a load of croc!

What a load of croc!

I’m sure you’ve seen them around town. Kids, women, children, dogs… all wearing these plasticy rubberized shoes. When I first laid eyes on them I was like, “No way. People are actually wearing these?! WHY?!” It’s true, I was a nay sayer. So much so that I was actually going to personally make it my mission to take pics of these on people’s feet and then post about it each day. And there would be plenty of pictures because crocs were everywhere! Then I got myself a pair for camping and thought, WELL NO WONDER! They were the perfect footwear for all...

Foodie: Recipe: Taco Soup

Yummilicious! You know when you come across a recipe that makes you physically SIGH when you eat it? Yup, this is that recipe. Well, it is for us anyway and the brilliant thing about it, there is next to NO WAY you can screw it up. Well, okay, maybe there is a way but trust me, this one is great. What you will need: Canned Veggies (you could use fresh BUT this cuts down on the quick and easy factor. My friend used left over veggies in her taco soup and it was the first one I’d ever tasted. Fabulous! Just make sure you have a good mixture of veggies in the pot. Potatoes, carrots,...
