End of the summer tour…

I’m a bit sad and a bit happy to report my touring of the western(ish) states is about to come to an end. Monday October 17, 2011 I will be speaking at my last two schools here on the road.

I’m in Casa Grande, AZ this week and totally enjoying my last glimpses of hot weather and kid pool time. It’s been an amazing visit with friends and family but truly I am ready for this two month tour trip to come to an end.

Mostly because I’m ready to be back in my own elements, with my own schedule, and even in my own bed. Not that all the beds have been terrible… but mine is mine and all.

The buzz created by my mini tour has been awesome. Lots of kids excited about the release of book two (which hopefully will come out on deadline) and even some are totally stoked for the drawing opportunity (for the chapters).

This has been the greatest two months of my life. Sure there are moments that I want to run around screaming like a banshee, but then there are moments of pure bliss. The moments where the bright smiles of the children seep into your soul. It’s brilliant!

Thursday morning I should be heading full force towards home from Albuquerque, NM. Nothing can stop me (well maybe a few potty breaks for kids or puppies… oh yes, we got puppies — story for another day)! I will make it home… and Friday, I will rest and rest and rest… and rest.

And probably write…
