Ahh, I’ve been home a week and been busy since I arrived. I keep telling myself I’m going to get up at 7am and write but it doesn’t happen. My body says, “Noooooo!” and so I sleep to make it be quiet.

Which means, I’m not done with DF2 yet. *sigh sigh*

I did have the opportunity to work on DF2 today and even added some great new scenes. But I also cut two chapters. More like edited them OUT because I didn’t need the section anymore. I loved it… like with a capital L, but it just didn’t have a place. Maybe I will share sometime. Because it was great, if I can be so bold…

So the real news is that I don’t think I’m going to be done with DF2 in time to have it out by Black Friday. I feel too rushed and don’t want to turn out a book that isn’t ready. I may offer a preorder for Black Friday but only if it’s done and at the editor. If it’s not, it just won’t happen. I will have a release party sale instead, when it does come out. I’d love to say I think it will be out by Christmas but, I don’t want to jump that gun yet.

This news is good news… really. Mainly, because that takes the pressure off me for finishing but gives me the opportunity to finish and still get the feedback I desire to make the story everything it needs to be.

There I said it. I am not meeting my goal. And oddly, I’m okay with it.

On the home front, my kids are happy to be home and enjoying (ha ha ha) their school time with mom. This year has already proved to be more of a challenge but I do have a 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th grader in the house! So we are having a ball with school time… (ha ha ha). Okay, Mom is having a ball, the kids are just dealing.

But, we are moving along in our days like clockwork. From 9-12 we are schooling and then finishing up after lunch, which is an excellent schedule for us.

My plan is to eventually get up at 7 and work until 9 on writing, but like I mentioned above, my body won’t let me yet. But I have faith it will happen soon.
