Writers Weekend update…

I’m blogging from Kansas City today. I have some fabulous breakfast casserole in my tummy and a cup of Hazelnut Vanilla steaming to my left. It’s going to be a good day.

The writer’s weekend concluded yesterday with sadness. Those in attendance were:

Did we get a lot of writing done… well… that is relative. One of our gals, I won’t name any names, got 1000% more words then she had when she started. Never mind the fact she started out with 30 words…  you do the math.

A few had some great progress! One hacked up a whole 16 page chapter and got it down to 11… and it’s awesome! Should we ever doubt? No. ;) She is pleasantly surprised by the results! Duh, Winning!!

Not sure really how most of the others did, because there was a lot of giggling and tweeting while trying to write… AND eating. Can’t forget the amazing food that was prepared for us!

The weekend was hosted by @DeniseMSwank who is completely the most awesome hostess on the planet. No really, you can look it up. She opened her home to us liars (aka Fiction writers) and found someplace for her cute kids to go. She found us beds and forged food. GOOD FOOD and we had a blast.

Completely a blast.

My goal was to get to 30K words… Ha ha ha… Yah, I am not so good at that whole making OBTAINABLE goals stuff. But I did make it to 18,778… started my weekend at 14,196. So really productive in my view… specially considering I wrote about drug withdrawal. I’ve never been through drug withdrawal so all I had were the movies to obtain my ideas from. Hopefully it’s right. I did struggle…

All in all, this weekend was… DUH, Winning! We all drank our Tiger Blood and set aside our Adonis

complexes to be together and thoroughly enjoy ever moment.

So yes… we had a blast… my husband says we should do it twice a year. I think he enjoys the time with no one nagging him in the house ;) What do I think of that? Duh, Winning!
