Query times two…

I know… I know…

It’s very hard to be in two different genres at the same time. I know this. It’s hard. It’s a lot of work. It’s time consuming. But while it is all of these things and more… It’s NOT impossible. Which is why I’ve got to try.

Last October/November I completed a Womens Christian Fiction novel. Yes, I know it came in around NaNoWriMo but I’d started in in April, so it really didn’t count as a NaNoWriMo Novel. I finished it around then, but didn’t take any credit for writing it in a month.  Anyhow, It is a Christian novel, make no mistake about it. It deasl with unforgiveness, bitterness, love, family and redemption, all through the love of Christ and the people that are in my MCs life. So it really can’t go anywhere else.

I’m excited about querying it soon. In fact, I’ve sent the MS out on three beta reads and another critique. Once the notes come back, I will revise if needed. Read through again and start the process for this MS.

So excited.

THEN there is the current query/submission process I’m involved in. DRAGONS FOREVER is out on two partials and actively being queried to agents who I believe would be a good fit. It’s middle grade and it’s really awesome… If I can say so myself. Ha!

I received valuable feedback just after RMFW and used my mad skilz and lots of coffee to restructure the novel so that my inciting incident happened in the first bit of the book (something we learned at RMFW too). My critique partners thankfully were there for me… and I was able to get the novel restructured, revised, polished and sent out in record time.

I sent out four more queries on DRAGONS FOREVER today… which doesn’t make me nervous, make me hopeful it will find a home.

So, while I’m nuts for trying to break into two genres… I believe in both of these novels and feel they both will have a home… eventually.

Maybe I should have named this query times three… because I do have that non-fiction proposal out… Hmmm ;)

Wow. You are busy. It’s good to see someone else doing multiple projects cause that makes mine seem less crazy. Maybe. I learned that insighting incident fact too, but got lucky because mine is in the first chapters. Not the case for my sekrit novel, so that will have to be fixed in rewrite.

You have a nonfiction proposal out? Interesting. I have a proposoal but it needs fixed before I send it out.

Good luck to you and the multiple projects.
