Well that was easy…
Now comes the hard part… wait wait wait.
What am I talking about… well, so glad you asked.
On Monday an agent (one we will call “Lovely Agent”) tweeted that she was being quite the pushover… so everyone should query her today.
Ohh! Lovely Agent, it just so happens that you are on my top five “To Be Queried” list… should I? Shouldn’t I? Seems silly to–ohh fingers what are you doing?
My tweet back: Awesome! (or something) I have a query already drafted to you in my box, I should send it now! Haha! (or something)
Fingers still working frantically: Lovely Agent, you said you were a pushover today… So I thought, “Huh, opportune moment!” here is my query. It rawks (Okay, I didn’t say that… but close).
THE RINGS OF TIME – YA Fantasy 75,000 words
Fingers pushed send (actually, I think it was my mouse moving on it’s own accord) and then I giggled… followed by panic. Most of you know I use a pen name (because my real name is taken in the world of publishing…) so I have two emails. One for my family, one for the author world… Oops. I sent it via the real me and signed via the stealth me.
*headdesk*
Oh well, she will get this email from JOE NORMAL ME signed Eisley Jacobs and think… what the heck? Personality crisis? No explanation no nothing… Just signed it with my pen name.
*headdesk*
So… if I never heard from her again except to say, “I think you need to take your meds regularly…” I will be okay with that.
Her website said 8-10 weeks to hear back, so really, I wrote it off and thought lovely things about Lovely Agent and terrible things about me… Eisley (cant remember to switch her email) Jacobs.
So the SHOCKER was to get an email in my box Tuesday afternoon from Lovely Agent requesting a partial.
*jaw drops to the floor*
I guess she didn’t take her meds that day either
So we are both unmedicated and it all worked peachy! Hahah!
Ahem, so… yes. I got a request for a partial. She said she was intrigued… I am happy. <– Understatement of the century.
Where’s my party hat?
